LOVE LETTERS OF CORTES

We’ve organized two sweet love-letter-themed events for you! Celebrate LOVE and join in on one or both events.

Sunday, Feb 11, 1-4 pm:
A great excuse to write your friend, lover, or neighbour a love letter right before Valentine’s Day! Jane Newman will be hosting this FREE workshop at the Cortes Museum. Everyone is welcome – this will be a fun, creative combination of writing and collage. No writing experience is necessary.

Wednesday, Feb 14, 7-8:30 pm:
YOU are invited to read a love letter (one you’ve written – or stashed from a romance long ago? Or maybe a favourite love poem?) and to listen to your neighbours, as well as archived letters from the Cortes Museum and writing by Oriane Lee Johnston, who will be hosting this event at the Cortes Museum. A heart-warming Valentine’s evening for couples, singles, and groups alike! Sweet treats by Sunflower Foods will also be available for purchase.

The capacity of both events is limited, so please register in advance to secure your spot by emailing jemma@folku.ca or calling Jemma at 250-702-4507.

Events are free and sponsored by the Cortes Museum & Archives Society, Cortes Island Community Foundation, and Decoda Literacy.
