We use these lakes for swimming, beach play, viewing, and even drinking water. And we’re not the only creatures that use the lakes either. This watershed is habitat for Aleutian sculpin, Cutthroat trout, and Stickleback populations, as well as the Western Red-breasted merganser and Mallards who come to nest and raise their young there.  Other species that depend on these lakes include: Canada geese, Trumpeter swan, Common merganser, scoters, Glaucous gull, Bonaparte’s gull, Wood duck, Harlequin, Greater scaup, Turkey vulture, Osprey, Bald eagle, Cooper’s hawk, Great horned owl, Barred owl, Belted Kingfisher, Rough-skinned newt, as well as beaver, raccoon, and wolves. The health of these lakes will impact the health and habitat of all species in this region.

Let’s keep this precious living water and ecosystem fresh and clean!
