OurCortes.com is the official tourism website of Cortes Island, offered to you by Cortes Island Business and Tourism Association (CIBATA). It aims to offer a comprehensive listing of services available on the island to travellers who are thinking about and actively planning a visit to our wonderful island.

Through this website, visitors (potential, new and recurring) will be able to learn about the diversity of what our island has to offer and how to make your visit unforgettable.

CIBATA encourages local businesses, repeat and/or previous visitors to the island, as well as Cortesians to contribute to this website to help future travellers plan their trip.

Contributing an article and/or photo

Do you have a great Cortes Island travel story to tell? Is there a must-do experience you suggest future visitors see or do? Beautiful photos, you would love to share? Have you any practical travel tips you think would be helpful to others? If so, please submit a contribution so that others can benefit from your knowledge, talent and/or experience. All article content submitted to this website for publication is reviewed by a representative of Cortes Island Business and Tourism Association for relevance, and web appropriateness. However, content contributed to the website by and large is published, the way the author intended, and all content is clearly attributed to the author.

Procedures and Guidelines

Contributors should follow the following procedures and guidelines when preparing documents for, or submitting suggestions for specific changes to the OurCortes.com website:

  • Please submit articles in one of the following formats – MS Word, Pages or Google Docs.
  • If graphics, i. e. photos, are embedded in a document they should also be made available as separate files in the following formats – GIF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG.
  • If materials are to be compressed for transfer, please use a common compression format i.e. ZIP.
